The affordable housing problem in Haywood and Jackson Counties was worsened by recent flooding, and causes stress for businesses in our community. The search for quality employees is difficult because people who want to live here can’t find reasonably-priced homes. It’s our mission to build moderately-priced workforce homes for the many couples, singles and families who find themselves forced out of the mountain market.

We believe that everyone everywhere should have an affordable place to call home. Your donation will help families in need of a safe and secure place to build long-term financial security. With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, childcare, education, and other essentials.

In order to make homes affordable we’re finding creative ways to provide down payment assistance.

Every dollar helps us towards our goal. To create current and ongoing capacity to build affordable housing, Mountain Projects is raising funds for a Revolving Development Fund. The monies from this fund are restricted and used for the construction of houses and down payment assistance.
